Home Based Business on the Internet how easy is it really? Does anyone expect to earn millions of dollars or pounds purchasing cheap ebooks and programmes? It seems people do have unrealistic expectations and internet marketing caters to those expectations. The cheaper programmes serve to help people decide whether to do it or not. Better to spend £100 and try things out than lose thousands and the shirt off your back.

From an ethical perspective, it is important to ensure that people realise that they do need to some work. Like any business how much is required depends on the area of business chosen. Define a business model or plan with goals and objectives. Find the right people to get information from to start that home based business or internet business and do what they say.

A cautionary tale - Someone that I recently met attended a seminar, purchased the product for several thousand of pounds, and rebranded it. He contracted out the website and the designer took almost a year to get it ready. By which time he didn’t know what to do with it. The prognosis is not good and situations like this can totally ruin people. I’m hoping he will tell his story.

When I first started out in internet marketing, I sold someone else’s product and gave coaching helping people get set up. Being new to teaching then, a couple of my student’s paid little or no attention and of course these students failed. I recall one guy who expected his website to earn him money within one week without promoting his site or list building.

I don’t take students on now unless they can answer several questions: What are their goals? How much time and money do they wish to invest in their business? How committed are they to their business? I accept the student if he or she is certain that becoming an entrepreneur is the right thing to do.
